Ella

Ella will be the greatest destination to visit if you despise chilly weather and prefer the feeling of cool air on your face. 

Ella, one of the most enticing destinations on this tear-shaped island, is tucked away in the foggy Sri Lankan high country, among lovely green hills and flowing waterfalls.

Many of our favorite Sri Lankan adventures can be found right here, from scaling the heady heights of Ella Rock to first seeing the mystical Nine Arch Bridge; standing on the edge of the roaring Diyaluma Falls (the country’s second tallest), and winding through the tea plantations and mountain passes on the famous Kandy to Ella train. 

Ella is a pleasant and laid-back village in the middle of the southern coast, ideal for relaxing, trekking, and escaping the scorching temperatures. 

Ella offers a wide range of activities, from ascending the green mountain peaks to jumping into cool waterfalls. After a day in the woods, the town has a vibrant vibe with plenty of fantastic cafes and restaurants to enjoy.
