Description
I wouldn’t be exaggerating if I said that I became a tour guide by accident. One serendipitous day in 2014, when I was dropping off a tour vehicle as part of my job supplying transport services to travel companies, I found out that the designated tour guide wouldn’t be able to accompany the guests due to a little mishap. Not wanting to shirk my responsibility, I decided to step in as the guide myself. That first 14-day tour, which is also incidentally the longest tour I’ve been on, turned out to be a life-changing experience. 9 years later, I’m still a tour guide, with never a dull moment in this adventurous career. My favourite part of the job is being able to organize uniquely Sri Lankan experiences for visitors.
